What to wear???
The single most asked question I get is... what should we wear? I truly have a hard time answering this because I firmly believe that your own style should come through, not mine. With that said, I can give you some guidelines. Simple is always best, these pictures really are about you and not your outfit. I encourage you to coordinate the clothing, but not to necessarily match. Similar color families, and styles always photograph well together. For small children and babies comfort is so important! No itchy clothing, scratchy tags, or tight collars. New shoes that are not worn in can really hurt and make for an unhappy child. No big bright logos, nothing to glitzy that can take the attention away from your child. Bare feet in season is always my favorite. I LOVE hats and scarves on kids, and even love it more when the child wont keep it on for more than the second it takes me to snap the picture of him trying to get it off! I have no problem with white or black, but love color too. I have to admit that I love the classics as much as I like the funky new trends, so go with your own personal style while keeping some of these tips in mind, and you cant go wrong!
Tip: checking the blog for looks that appeal to you is a good starting point.
What happens next:
2: Within one week of your session I will email you to let you know that your preview has been posted on the blog!
About a month after our session I will contact you to let you know your session is ready for viewing. Your session will be posted on a password protected gallery. Feel free to share your gallery with friends and family who will have the ability to purchase prints right from this secure site. The on line gallery will be available for one month only, and all orders must be placed within that time frame.
How does it all work?
Please note... sessions are booked 2-3 months in advance during peak seasons (exception is newborns).
1: Once you have scheduled your session with me the fun begins. First we talk about your children, how you see them, what they love, don't like etc...
We will discuss locations (I have many favorite spots in Philadelphia, the Main Line, and Jersey shore), and what time of day is best for your children. The session fee holds your date, payment is made when booking a date (MCP accepts visa and mastercard for convenience). I require 24 hour notice on cancellations. If you need to cancel because of sickness, please let me know as soon as possible. I am a mother myself so I do understand these things happen.
How long does a typical session take?
My sessions usually last between 1-2 hours. I will never rush it; some kids need longer to warm up and feel comfortable in front of the camera. We will take breaks for snacks, diaper changes, hugs or whatever your child may need. The session will feel like a play-date for your child. I always engage children in natural play and or conversation so the photographs reflect your child's true personality.
Please e-mail me or call me with any other questions. I look forward to capturing your moments. Sandy
